Message from the President
Dear Fellow FAMUan:
Welcome to the Leon County Chapter’s website. It has been
developed as another service for our members, other alumni
and friends.
In addition to a long-standing partnership with our alma mater,
the Leon County Chapter has several unique characteristics.
It is the:
Home site of our alma mater, FAMU;
Oldest chapter in existence (an outgrowth of the national
association in 1901—organized in 1930); and
Chapter with the largest number of members (life and regular).

HOLIDAY BOOK DRIVE 2008
The Leon County Chapter of the FAMU National Alumni Association will host its annual Christmas Social
Date: Tuesday, December 16, 2008
Time: 6-9 PM
Location: Café Cabernet - 1019 N. Monroe Street.
This year’s admission is free, but we encourage everyone to bring new or gently used books for the students at Sable Palm Elementary School. We will celebrate with great food and drinks, door prizes, and musical entertainment provided by DJ Omigod. If you have never been to an alumni association event before, this will be a great introduction to the chapter and an opportunity for you to submit your 2009 memberships!
For more information please call 274-9301 or 212-5983.
The Leon County Chapter would like to thank Embarq and the Café Cabernet for making our Christmas Social Extra-Special for the Holidays!
